SOCIAL ISSUES
- Men are more prone to depression in retirement, partly because their identity is more closely tied to their careers compared to women
- Currently there is a lack of public awareness and not enough community service aim for the male young old retirees
SOCIAL INNOVATION
- Training a team of male young old to learn new skill set. Establish a social platform and provide acapella training that would lead to performance opportunities. The year long training is documented to raise public awareness and promote active ageing
EXCEPTED SOCIAL IMPACT
15 retired young old will be recruited to form an all- male Acapella singing group | |
200 hours of training and practice sessions will be provided to set them up for future performance | |
20 students participate in the making of documentary, with 25 exchange sessions with young old | |
Promote interactions between the young old and younger generation, and advocate intergenerational inclusion |
BUSINESS MODEL
Salt and Pepper gains revenue from the training fees from young old and the ticket fees from concerts
PROGRAMME CONTENT
Set up Acapella singing group
Acapella training classes and performance opportunities will be provided to the young old. Aim to encourage them to keep learning and to boost their social engagement
Documentary making
Students from tertiary institutions will be invited to record documentary for the young old during their choir trainings and performance to witness their experience
